Sean Colio, M.D.
Dr. Sean Colio is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and fellowship trained in Sports, Electrodiagnosis and Spine. As a physiatrist, Dr. Colio specializes in restoring optimal function to individuals with injuries to the neuromuscular system.
After receiving his medical degree from Chicago Medical School, Dr. Colio completed his internship at Northwestern University Evanston Hospital. He then completed residency training in physical medicine at rehabilitation at the University of California Davis Medical Center. Thereafter he completed further training in sports, electrodiagnosis and spine.
Dr. Colio specializes in advanced, non-surgical treatment for a broad spectrum of conditions, from reducing pain in the elderly to helping an elite athlete return to competition. He uses novel, cutting-edge techniques in rehabilitative care, such as platelet rich plasma therapy and stem cell injections and has been published in “The Atlas of Ultrasound-Guided Procedures in Interventional Pain Management.”
